Major Enemy

When a shugenja has gained mastery over a spell, he is able to complete the incredibly complex sequence of motions and meditations that are required to appease the spirits and manipulate
the elements without the aid of a scroll. If the shugenja casts the spell from a scroll anyway, the spell is even easier and the shugenja is given a Free Raise.

You are a
witch-hunter, a feared shugenja of the Tsukai-sagasu. You are tasked to deal with tainted people, Maho-Tsukai, Bloodspeakers and other followers of He Who Must Not Be Named. Apart from that,
you try to see for any signs of Darkness, Ichuban and other great threats to Rokugan. Your father was present at the court of the emperor at the time of his posession, he revealed Bayushi
Kudan as a traitor and was murdered a couple of days later. While his killer was never found, it was ordained that another Bayushi must pay for your fathers death. Bayushi Tadakimo was
ordered to commit sepukku, since then, his son Bayushi Kaido has issued a blood feud over the incident. You have since learned that Kudan himself was posessed as well at the time of his
betrayal, making the entire feud futile. But Kaido does not believe you and since both the Kuni and the Bayushi Daimyos have forbidden a duel between you two, Kaido has stooped to
assassination attempts. You will not follow in this folly and instead concentrate your anger on the true enemies of the empire: the Maho-Tsukai. You spend every waking hour on finding them in
order to kill them all.
