The Kakita School emphasizes the more traditional and ritualistic fighting styles. Bushi from the Kakita School may add their Iaijutsu skill to any Initiative roll and may
also use their Iaijutsu in place of their Kenjutsu.

Advantages
Disadvantages
Luck I
For every level of Luck, you may re-roll one unsuccessful roll during a session.
Colour Blind
The Doji tend to have eyes that are paler than most of Rokugan's natives, and sometimes this causes colorblindness. The Colorblind character can see colors as shades of gray, but cannot
tell the difference between shades. This tends to make certain tasks more difficult, such as identifying a Clan's mon.
Quick
You're just faster than other folks. When determining Initiative, roll two dice and keep the higher.
Vain
You are gorgeous and/or brilliant - and you know it. Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't seem to notice. You'd better make sure they know the quality of the person they are
dealing with!
Ancestor: Kakita Rensei
Those who choose Rensei as their Ancestor may not have the damage they deliver reduced, avoided, or ignored in any fashion. Abilities which would allow a character to dodge or parry the
blow are still effective; only those abilities which negate damage after it has been dealt are ineffective.
Soft-Hearted
You have a profound respect for human life. Your conscience overcomes you whenever you are about to commit an act of inhumane cruelty. Whenever you try to take a human life, you must make
a simple Willpower roll against a 20 or you can't follow through with the action.
Obligation (Hida Buruke)
You owe someone a favor, and someday they are going to collect. A major favor would discredit you and disgrace your family if it came to light.
Fascination: history
The character has a fascination with something - music, horses, ancient history - and will go to any length to learn new things about it. A character with a fascination for spellcraft
might resort to stealing scrolls from other shugenja. Someone who has a fascination with horses would go to any length to purchase (or otherwise obtain) one of the finest steeds of the
Unicorn, or someone who was fascinated with Naga would leap at the chance to travel into the forests of Shinomen, searching for Naga ruins, even if the forest was crawling with monsters.

Bio:
You were one of the finest Crane duellists in your school. On
your Gempukku your teachers spoke highly of your skill. You have carefully studied the Iaijutsu techniques of your Grandfather. You have only been defeated once, but that was enough to become
ashamed. The bushi youy defeated thought it a fitting punishment to send you to the Wall in Crab Lands. Your Daymio agreed. On the wall they call you a Koma, a Pony, after the old Yasuki
tradition of sending lame ponies to it as bait for Ogres & Oni. You are not bait and these unruly, barbaric Crab will soon see what you are capable of. They have assigned you to one of
the biggest, foulest and mean spirited Crab Bushi you ever saw: Hida Buruke. You're certain the you will learn a lot fighting the shadowlands and on the plus side, the Hida have a big library
which is rarely used. In your free time you can scour the books for lost lore and history. Your parents are both alive, you have a brother and a sister too. You are not married nor do you
have children.
